Biography

Dr. Jochen Biedermann is a global expert in international financial centers, FinTech, and financial regulation. As Managing Director of the World Alliance of International Financial Centers (WAIFC), he leads an international non-profit association representing 27 leading financial centers across the globe, facilitating cooperation, the exchange of best practices, and communication with the broader public.

Through his weekly newsletter Financial Center News, Dr. Biedermann curates the most important updates, regulatory developments, events, and thought-leadership from financial centers worldwide — providing a unique weekly panorama of global finance for practitioners, policymakers, and researchers.

Alongside his work at WAIFC, Dr. Biedermann serves as Managing Partner of FinTech Consult, a network of FinTech specialists in Asia, Europe, and Africa. He is a Non-Executive Director of Eastnets, a global provider of compliance and payment solutions, and an Expert at the Sino-German Center for Finance and Economics in Frankfurt. He holds a Fellowship at the Think Tank of the Asian Financial Cooperation Association and is a Founding Board Member of the International Digital Economies Association.

Dr. Biedermann is also active as a mentor at leading innovation hubs, including Cyberport in Hong Kong, OneEleven in Toronto, the 1871 FinTech Innovation Lab in Chicago, and 1000 Black Voices globally.
