Convened by the COP28 UAE Presidency, and hosted at #ADGM, a convergence of world leading #economists and financial leaders from institutions, including the World Bank, IMF, ECF and IFC, aligned at an IHLEG. The meeting determined steps towards establishing a comprehensive global climate finance framework, ahead of a transformative #COP28 Summit.

The gathering ignited essential discussions following the momentum of the Bridgetown Initiative and the Paris Summit, to develop the roadmap for the framework, which will address debt distress, particularly in developing economies, and the role of the private sector in increasing financial flows to facilitate the funding gap.

COP28 President-Designate, Dr. Sultan Al Jaber, issued a resolute call to action to the forum’s participants.

Al Jaber communicated a clear mandate to develop ‘a detailed action-orientated framework and tangible recommendations that lead to real results’ as a clear output from the meeting, with an impact that extends to COP30 and beyond, providing a concrete plan of action on international climate finance: 🔗 https://lnkd.in/d8DMGuc

Today at the AIFC, a significant meeting took place with His Excellency Cho Tae-ick, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Kazakhstan. The dialogue centered around bolstering ties between Kazakhstan and South Korea, highlighting Korea's esteemed position as a priority partner for AIFC.

With the Republic of Korea's ongoing interest in Central Asia, AIFC stands poised to extend its full-fledged support. Remarkably, in Kazakhstan, there are 740 enterprises with participation from Korean businesses, featuring industry leaders like Kia, Samsung Electronics, and SK.

As AIFC ambitiously expands its horizon, it has successfully registered over 2,000 entities from 75 nations on its platform. Notably, 15 of these companies originate from the Republic of Korea.

The similarities and shared aspirations between both nations foster a closer alliance, not only on global platforms but also bilaterally. AIFC is committed to playing a central role in nurturing these ties, offering an inviting environment for esteemed partners and investors from South Korea.
