The COVID-19 lockdown has offered an opportunity for Mrs. Armita Atchamah, a homemaker and mother of two children, to explore new artistic pursuits and techniques. What used to be her personal passion is now a source of income.

As a skilled artist, Mrs. Armita captures the beauty of Mauritius through her unique mandala artwork, which featured the iconic Dodo bird. The vibrant colors in her work reflect the multicultural essence of the nation, where diverse communities live in harmony. The green shades represent the mountains and the natural landscape, while the blue signifies the surrounding ocean.

Mrs. Armita believes that it is never too late to pursue her passion. She says "This artwork is very special, unique and close to my heart. This is my first time participating in an Art Exhibition and I am thankful to EDB for giving me the opportunity to showcase my talent to a wider. I am honored that the painting has found a new home."

The #EDBArtGallery is open to visitors from 9am to 5pm from Monday to Friday.

In recent years, her face has become familiar to the fintech entrepreneurs who, like her, have made their home at the LHoFT. Maria Mateo, originally from Alicante, has established part of the InsurTech Ibisa team within the national fintech hub. Ibisa develops insurance products for climate disruptions, making climate resilience accessible, and affordable for stakeholders in emerging markets.

We had a great Anglo-Italian Financial Services Dialogue in London last week, where we engaged in meaningful discussions about the UK and Italy's economic relationship, the evolving EU-UK relationship, and the EU Commission's competitiveness agenda.

We also explored the impact and opportunities presented by the digitalisation of capital markets, as well as the future of ESG and its implications for the financial and related professional services industry.
