πΆ The digital euro: How Europe can score points with digital money πͺ
While the US is setting its strategy for digital financial technologies with Trump's new executive order, a digital dollar is surprisingly left out. But what does this mean for Europe? Could this be the moment when the digital euro becomes the deciding factor? βοΈ
The EU has already set the regulatory course, and initial tests show the potential. But is that enough to position itself globally? What role do blockchain, tokenization, and stablecoins play in this competition?
Future Finance Poland (FFP)
On Friday, the EU Roundtable of Financial Centres held a meeting in Warsaw at the headquarters of the Warsaw Stock Exchange. The meeting was opened by Jurand Drop, Undersecretary of State at Poland's Ministry of Finance, who outlined the key priorities of the Polish Presidency in the financial market sector.
Topics ranged from the Savings and Investment Union, MiCA regulation challenges, the potential of Open Finance (FIDA), and key challenges posed by PSD3/PSR. All the gathered financial centers recognized financial education as an important action that should be undertaken in order to build a strong and competitive, but above all, safe common market for financial services in the EU.
In the afternoon session, we shifted focus specifically to the future of finance in Central Europe, with Poland in the spotlight. Insights from Michal Kobza (Warsaw Stock Exchange), Marek Radzikowski (PKO Bank Polski), and Dariusz Mazurkiewicz (BLIK) underlined the dynamic growth and innovation potential of the Polish financial ecosystem.
Thank you to all the participants for the valuable exchanges and insightful discussions.
